One Drop Design says that the Project 2 was created to meet the modern standards and features that players have come to expect in a quality metal yo-yo. The goal was to maintain the spirit of the original Project, while adding refinements.
The Project 2 features an entirely new machining process, a redesigned profile that adds rim weight and redesigned grooves for better grinding.
This Flow Groove version now has an IRG, is a little heavier and features numerous other small/subtle refinements.
