We\u003cbr\u003e\nreally want to thank you for all the support for this incredible journey\u003cbr\u003e\nand make this possibly. Every year we traditionally will have an\u003cbr\u003e\nanniversary model to celebrate and kickstart our year. This year we want to do another bimetal, we want to create a\u003cbr\u003e\nsomewhat budget bimetal offering that highlights the extreme\u003cbr\u003e\nmanufacturing capability of yoyofriends and our parent\u003cbr\u003e\ncompany, FPM. To have an extreme rim design and keep the\u003cbr\u003e\ncost somewhat low, we decided to go with a 6061 bimetal\u003cbr\u003e\ninstead of 7068. To start this design, we looked into our most\u003cbr\u003e\nsuccessful budget yoyo, the Shortcut. Shortcut is a 6061\u003cbr\u003e\nmonometal design that is very capable despite its price, utilizing hybrid V and H shape and cuts to bring out the\u003cbr\u003e\noutstanding power and look into a budget yoyo.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nFor the 8th anniversary version, we would like to use an\u003cbr\u003e\nH-shaped structure and use cutting lines like our shortcut. We\u003cbr\u003e\ndecided to take another approach on the outer rim design,\u003cbr\u003e\ntraditionally we have the SS rim pushed down inward into the\u003cbr\u003e\nyoyo, however this time we decided to make the rim pushed\u003cbr\u003e\noutward, almost like gluing it on. We also went super risky with\u003cbr\u003e\nthe low contact surface area between the 6061 and the SS rim. This allows the rim width and the weight maximized. giving the\u003cbr\u003e\nyoyo more bimetal power and a striking look. This is a tall order\u003cbr\u003e\nas we realize the rim shifts more easily when the yoyo is hit on\u003cbr\u003e\nthe ground. To counteract this we added a concave spot along\u003cbr\u003e\nthe outer part of the contact surface between the two materials,\u003cbr\u003e\nthis when the rings are put on the yoyo, it is less prone to shift\u003cbr\u003e\nafter being hit on the ground. After the first prototype, the player team thinks the rim weight is\u003cbr\u003e\nsimply too much, giving the yoyo too much momentum despite\u003cbr\u003e\nits already light weight, so for the final prototype we shifted a\u003cbr\u003e\ntiny amount of rim weight from the rim towards the 6061 part of\u003cbr\u003e\nthe yoyo, making the yoyo still very extreme, lightweight and\u003cbr\u003e\nhave a decent flow.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nWe tried to name the yoyo something connected to shortcut, Because in a way, it is related to the shortcut, instead of finding\u003cbr\u003e\na word that related to shortcut based on meaning, we opted for\u003cbr\u003e\nthe name papercut. Inspired by the song Papercut, by Linkin\u003cbr\u003e\nPark which is one our favorite song for a couple of our\u003cbr\u003e\nyoyofriends player. It also contains the word cut, which\u003cbr\u003e\nidentifies the yoyo as it contains multiple cuts on the yoyo to\u003cbr\u003e\ngive it a signature look.
