Machined polycarbonate body with Stainless Steel rims and Polynesian inspired art.
This is the newest signature model for 2018 1A World Champion, Evan Nagao. His original signature throw, the Edge has been split into many derivations, and the Poly Edge is the latest iteration!
As the name implies, the body is made from polycarbonate plastic, with the addition of a stainless rim. The width has been slimmed down by 1.5mm from the original design, so that although there's a big difference in material and design from the full metal Edge, the Poly Edge still has that characteristic playfeel that feels heavy at first throw, but somehow manages to play light on the string. The effect is similar to a bimetal design.
The "Poly" in the name not only refers to the body materials, but also to Polynesia, the massive archipelago that includes Evan's home state of Hawaii. The name is a subtle nod in deference to the land where he was born and raised. As such, the artwork decorating the side faces are in the style of Polynesian tribal motifs.
The Poly edge doesn't lose any ground to the metal-bodied yo-yos that are popular today, with stability and a great playfeel; we'd like you metal-heads to give the Poly Edge a throw, if you aren't too afraid you might love it!
