IMAGiNATiON is iYoYo’s new flagship model — created for ambitious players, competitors, and everyone looking for a modern bimetal that follows the trend toward wider yo-yos without sacrificing playability.

It is the widest bimetal design we have ever released under iYoYo. But that was exactly the challenge: more width means more catchability and confidence, but it can also make a yo-yo feel slower, harder to control, or more sensitive to imperfect throws. With IMAGiNATiON, we aimed for the sweet spot: modern width, serious performance, and a play feel that remains fast, controlled, and surprisingly light on the string.

Our testers described the feel almost absurdly: it barely feels like there is a yo-yo on the string — that is how quickly and effortlessly it moves through tricks. At the same time, the 6061 aluminum body and stainless steel weight rings provide plenty of power. The result is a yo-yo that reacts incredibly fast, stays stable, and still has enough reserves for very long combos.

Visually, IMAGiNATiON stays intentionally clean: a minimalist laser engraving in the hub, combined with the model name on the outer rims. No overloaded design — just a sharp, modern look that fits the performance perfectly.

We are especially proud of the story behind this yo-yo:

IMAGiNATiON was developed together with Lukas Wilke, a young German yo-yo player with a strong interest not only in playing, but also in technology, design, and scientific topics. Lukas has participated in “Jugend forscht” several times and taught himself how to design yo-yos during one summer. His first concepts were created and 3D-printed at his local youth research center.

At some point, he sent me a message along the lines of: “Hey Dave, I think I have a really interesting shape here.”

And he was right.

Of course, the idea still had to be refined significantly for CNC production — a 3D print can show whether a shape is promising, but it cannot reproduce the precision and performance of a real metal yo-yo. After several adjustments and two prototypes, one thing became clear: this works. Really well.

IMAGiNATiON shows perfectly what the yo-yo community is all about: you do not necessarily have to be a champion on stage to make an impact. Sometimes that impact starts at a computer, inside a CAD program, at a youth research center — and later ends up as a yo-yo in the hands of players around the world.

Lukas and Dave created something here that not only plays extremely well, but also tells a real story.
