The Duncan ProYo is a classic yo-yo, A favorite among colectlectors, but still a great beginner yo-yo. It is one of the first loopers, designed for looping tricks. (2A)
Here are the key features and history of the Duncan ProYo:
Key Features
Axle System: It features a patented removable/replaceable wooden axle sleeve (or wooden axle) which makes looping tricks easy and provides a classic wooden yo-yo feel. (not sure if the patent is still active) The wooden axle provides high friction response, meaning the yo-yo is responsive.
Design & Shape:
It has a rim-weighted shape that is excellent for looping yo-yo tricks (also known as 2A style).
Take-Apart Design: The yo-yo has a take-apart design, which makes it easy to remove knots. You simply twist the halves in opposite directions, remove the knot, and re-assemble.
Performance: It is known for its excellent response and is considered a great introductory yo-yo for players looking to do basic and looping tricks.

History
Original Development: The ProYo was originally developed and patented in 1974.
Playmaxx Era: It was first produced by Playmaxx, a company started by Donald F. Duncan, Jr. (son of the original Duncan Yo-Yo founder) in 1976. The yo-yo was a key product for Playmaxx and is considered by many to be the father of most modern yo-yos due to its shape, rim-weighted design, and take-apart feature.
Duncan Acquisition: The assets of Playmaxx Inc., including the ProYo design, were purchased by the Duncan Toys Co. in November of 2001.Â
These are 2004 and came with a mini Trick CD in the package. Made in China.
