The idea for TEQUiLA was created in collaboration with Ze'ev Yehuda . For the 2020 YoYo World Championship in Budapest, we wanted to give the participants something that represents the European YoYo scene in a slightly different way: not just competition and performance, but also friendships, meetings, and the legendary evenings after the contests.
The World Championship was ultimately cancelled. We didn't want to abandon the project, though – and so the planned contest special became a regular iYoYo with a rather unique story. The artwork is by Bryan Figueroa .
A gag that's surprisingly serious!
The overall shape resembles two shot glasses placed against each other. This makes the TEQUiLA exceptionally wide and offers a huge surface area for string catches. Mounts, hops, and large movements can therefore be executed with surprising accuracy.
The unusual geometry makes it more challenging when many strings are close together. That's precisely what defines its character: the TEQUiLA doesn't try to be a sterile, high-performance yo-yo like every other. It's meant to play differently, look different, and above all, be fun.
From responsive gag to unresponsive performance yoyo!
The TEQUiLA can be played responsively right out of the box. If you want to play modern string tricks, simply install the included wide C-bearing and longer axle and switch to unresponsive playing with a bind.
Beneath the crazy exterior lies a fully-fledged modern yo-yo – just one that no one would mistake for any other model.
