Designed around the golden ratio and named after the greek sculptor Phidias, the latest release from PDX-YO is intended to challenge perceptions of what a slimline should be capable of.
The golden ratio describes predictable patterns on everything from atoms to huge stars in the sky and this YoYo. The ratio is derived from something called the Fibonacci sequence, where Nature uses this ratio to maintain balance.
The Phidias is a 7075 monometal that can be converted from fixed axle play to unresponsive. It features deeply engraved rings describing a Fibonacci sequence on its flat cup. It is designed around the golden ratio (or golden mean). The Phidias strived to influence all of the dimensions with golden ratios and fibonacci numbers. Its profile in particular is a golden ratio of width to diameter.
